See Castle Howard’s dramatic 18th-century interiors transformed at Christmas time when the Hon Simon and Mrs Howard decorate each room for the festive season.  In rooms lit by fire and candlelight marvel at the giant Christmas trees, spectacular display of festive ‘twigs’, traditional decorations and floral arrangements; taking time to chat to our friendly and knowledgeable guides on hand to describe how Yorkshire’s finest historic house gets ready for Christmas.

At our cafés enjoy homemade seasonal soup and sandwiches, through to a traditional Christmas lunch with all the trimmings; or ‘take out’ delicious cakes and coffee at the Coffee Shop and Boathouse Café.

Shopping at Castle Howard is also a treat at Christmas with a wonderful selection of gift ideas and decorations to browse in the House Gift Shop and Carriage House.  At the Farm Shop discover local produce and delicious gift food ideas, or pick up a Christmas tree at the Garden Centre.
