Enjoy the very Best of British this summer at the famous Castle Howard Proms Spectacular on Saturday 21 August. The Proms is always a highlight of the Yorkshire events calendar. This year is no exception and promises to be the ‘must have’ ticket of the summer.
The Great British Proms Spectacular is a celebration of 10 years of the Proms Spectacular at Castle Howard, and we’ll be celebrating with an evening of unrivalled magical family entertainment with all your favourites from the Proms and some new surprises added too!
Featuring the renowned English National Orchestra, with exuberant conductor Jae Alexander at the helm, this promises to be a superb evening of fun for the whole family. The concert will also feature star soloists, who will perform popular arias and all the favourites associated with The Last Night of the Proms. Sit back relax and picnic on the North Lawns as the English National Orchestra takes to the stage to perform wonderful classics such as Cavalleria Rusticana, the Adagio from Spartacus, O Mio Babbino Caro, the theme from Harry Potter and many more.
As darkness falls ‘the Best of British’ resounds with Elgar’s Nimrod and Walton’s Crown Imperial as stunning special effects light up the sky. Flags and singing voices will then need to be at the ready as the orchestra launches into a huge finale of traditional Proms favourites, including Rule Britannia, Jerusalem, the 1812 Overture and Elgar’s Pomp & Circumstance March No.1.
A celebration just isn’t complete without fireworks and this year’s finale promises to be the biggest ever seen at Castle Howard. Thousands of fireworks will fill the skies above Yorkshire in the most breathtaking spectacle.
It’s a picnic, it’s a classical rave, it’s a party, it’s another excuse to get your friends together and have fun. Make the memory of a lifetime this summer with friends and loved ones and come and experience the magic for yourselves.
