Why has history condemned Rosalind as the archetypal ‘battle-axe’ (a term she even used herself)? Strident, intolerant, and ferociously energetic Rosalind could, in the words of her daughter, both make and mar happiness.
This illustrated talk will look at her contradictory character, at how she saw herself and how others saw her, from her husband’s intimate nude drawings of her, to attacks in the press after she famously destroyed the wine at Castle Howard. At the risk of incurring her wrath the talk will be followed by a two course lunch with wine!
Places cost £50.00 which includes lunch. Places must be pre-booked, please call 01653 648621.
