A True British Spectacular

Firework finale
Castle Howard will be hitting all the right notes this summer with the return of our annual classical Proms Spectacular on Saturday 20 August.

Musical maestro Jae Alexander will lead the English National Orchestra in a rousing medley of traditional orchestral anthems, with Aled Jones performing as star guest soloist.

Jae comments: ‘Every year I step out onto the stage and I know we are all in for such a wonderful evening. A big part of it is the beautiful location, the surroundings are stunning. The magnificent house rises up behind the audience and the lakes and Howardian Hills surround the arena creating a perfect sort of amphitheatre. Come rain or shine, the crowds always turn out ready for a good night and the spirit is contagious.’

Joining Jae on stage will be soprano Janet Mooney, who is making a welcome return to Castle Howard. This outdoor picnic concert celebrates the best of British with a dramatic firework finale.

Rachel Underwood, marketing manager at Castle Howard, said: ‘The Proms is always the highlight of our event calendar and we’re looking forward to announcing some further special guests to the line up very soon. It’s the combination of wonderful music, amazing performers and stunning fireworks finale that make this a spectacular evening of entertainment.’

The Proms Spectacular is the second concert to be announced, as last month, it was confirmed that legend Sir Tom Jones would be returning to Castle Howard on Saturday 16 July.
