Road maintenance work is taking place along the avenue from Tuesday 23 February.

During the work certain road closures and diversions will be in place, Castle Howard and all our outlets will be open as usual throughout the work. Please follow road signage.

Details of the closures are outlined below, dates are for guidance only and are subject to change. Please follow all directional signage and advice of the contractors. 

Phase 1
Road closed from:
Sheepwalk (Slingsby Crossroads) to Coneysthorpe Crossroads.
From Tuesday 23 February for 5/6 days.

Phase 2
Road closed from:
Coneysthorpe Crossroads to the Obelisk.
From Monday 29 February/Tuesday 1 March for 2-4 days.

Phase 3
Road closed from:
Welburn Crossroads to the Gatehouse & Welburn Crossroads to 7th Earl's Monument (Barton Hill Crossroads).
Upon completion of Phase 2 for 4-5 days .
