Our team of knowledgable guides are on hand to answer any questions you may have and we also sell a full colour guide book, which provides a lot more detail about the history of the house, family and collections. 

If you wish to enhance your visit further, why not join a garden tour?  These take place throughout the day, between March and October, and are included in your admission price.  Tours include the architecture of Castle Howard, the great fire of 1940, and behind the scenes in the Walled Garden; as well as guided visits to the Temple of the Four Winds.  No pre-booking is required - just turn up and meet your guide in the Boar Garden.  Please ask our staff for details when you arrive.

Alternatively, for a more indepth exploration and understanding of Castle Howard, join our Curatorial Team for an entertaining and informative talk or tour; many of which include refreshments or lunch.  These provide the opportunity to explore the wider landscape and visit buildings not normally open to visitors.  Additional fees do apply and pre-booking is essential.  Please visit our What's On pages for more details.
