The Fitzroy Room
Located on the ground floor of the House, the Fitzroy Room is open to all visitors. The self-service restaurant offers a generous traditional selection of freshly made sandwiches and salads, plus delicious home-made cakes. Between 12.00pm and 2.30pm enjoy a choice of three or four hot dishes from our kitchen. We also offer a selection of hot and cold drinks, including beers and wines. Vegetarian and gluten free options are available and some dishes can be altered to your requirements on request. Seating is available indoors or outside in the Boar Garden. Open daily when the House is open between 10.30am and 5.00pm.
The Boathouse Café
On the shore of the Great Lake and adjacent to the adventure playground The Boathouse is ideal for families. The self-service offer includes hot and cold drinks, home-made cakes, sandwiches and soup. Seating is available indoors and outside by the playground. (Please note The Boathouse decking overlooking the Great Lake is closed until early May for refurbishment.) The Boathouse is open from 11.00am until 4.30pm at weekends and during school holidays (daily between May and September). Get there by foot or jump on the land train at the ticket office or House entrance!
Lakeside Ice Cream Kiosk
Visit our ice cream kiosk at the lakeside for a delicious selection of tempting flavours from some of the best ice cream producers in Yorkshire! Open at weekends and during school holidays from 11.00am.
The Courtyard Café
The Courtyard Café is located in the Stable Courtyard before the ticket entrance to Castle Howard. Our chefs change the menu seasonally, using local produce where possible; as well as meat sourced from our Farm Shop; to create a great selection of favourite traditional dishes - all served with a modern 'twist'! All our food is prepared fresh to order, and we accommodate vegetarian and gluten free diets as standard. If you have any special dietary requirements please speak to our staff and any dish will be altered to your specification. Our fully licensed 'bistro' style restaurant has table service, with plenty of seating inside and out. The Courtyard Café is open all year from 10.00am.

The Coffee Shop 'To Go'
Pop in for great coffee, delicious patisserie and some of the best ice cream from Yorkshire! The Coffee Shop also sells a selection of sandwiches, cold drinks, confectionery and savoury snacks. The Coffee Shop is located just inside the entrance to the Courtyard - perfect for a take-away coffee on arrival, or a quick ice cream before the journey home!
