When is the site open?

We open between 1st March and 31st October.

What time can we arrive?

Arrival from 12 noon.

What time do we have to vacate?

Departure time is 12 noon.

Can I arrive late?

If you are late we can leave a map on the reception door directing you to your pitch.

What size are the tent pitches?

We can accommodate tents up to 5 metres x 5 metres.

Do you accept group bookings?

Yes we do accept group bookings and we do our best to accommodate all your needs, but we cannot always guarantee they will be adjacent to each other if they are not booked at the same time.

Can we book online?

Unfortunately we can only take bookings via the phone (+44(0)1653 648316) and we do require a £15 non-refundable deposit to secure a booking, or full payment if staying for one night.

Can we put two tents on one pitch?

Unfortunately due to fire regulations we can only allow one tent per pitch.

Can I bring more than one car?

We only allow one car at the pitch. Any others after unloading/loading must be parked on the free reception car park.

Can I fish the lake?

Fishing is available at a small charge of £7 per day for those staying on the site. However, please note that it is no longer a managed fishing lake.

Are barbecues allowed?

Yes, providing they are off the ground so as not to damage the grass. Please follow the instructions and be aware of carbon monoxide emissions. Pre-order a breakfast or barbecue pack from Castle Howard's Farm Shop butchery team before you arrive. 

Do you accept dogs?

We allow up to two dogs per pitch. We have a designated dog-walking area, around seventy miles of public rights of way on the estate, and dogs are allowed into the grounds of Castle Howard.

How far is Castle Howard and can we walk there?

Castle Howard is approximately one mile from the Lakeside Holiday Park, but this does require a walk on the roadside. Parking is free at Castle Howard and can accommodate motorhomes.

Does the price include entry into Castle Howard?

No, however we do give a discount voucher upon arrival which permits 2 for 1 entry.
