Castle Howard shortlisted for UK Heritage Award
Latest From: House & Grounds, Estate

Having been crowned winners of the 'Best Christmas Experience' in the Little Vikings Awards last month, we’re now thrilled to be shortlisted again for another incredible award.

Organised by Visit Heritage, the UK Heritage Awards are a true celebration of those places bringing history and heritage to life and so it’s a real pleasure to be shortlisted for ‘Best Event, Festival or Exhibition’. Receiving the nomination for our Christmas at Castle Howard experience, we are overjoyed to be recognised by this prestigious award.

2018 saw our most successful Christmas period ever with over 51,500 people coming to take part in the festive frivolities. Following the theme of The Twelve Days of Christmas there were stunningly creative decorations as well as Father Christmas experiences, magic shows and festive afternoon teas.

As well as providing visitors with an incredible visual spectacle, 2018’s decorations expertly wove together the Twelve Days of Christmas theme with the Howard family history bringing to life stories such as the 12 children of Lady Georgiana, 6th Countess of Carlisle.
