Our butchery team have the pick of the finest quality, hand reared produce and with 90% of our range sourced from within 40 miles we guarantee the freshest, tastiest meat all prepared by our expert team.

Our new head butcher, Paul, prides himself on offering a fantastic selection of exceptional quality meats and the team are happy to prepare the perfect cut just for you.

From handmade burgers, sausages and kebabs perfect for the BBQ to fresh chicken portions, lamb cutlets, prime Aberdeen Angus steak and more. Our butchery team work closely with local farmers and suppliers to ensure only the finest quality meat makes it onto the counter.

From chickens which roam free in the fields at Harome to those fed on a mixture of herbs and corn at Thirsk, cows and sheep which graze in Castle Howard’s fields and pedigree pigs which thrive on their outdoor lifestyle at Sutton on the Forest. The butchery counter also offers a variety of game provided by our own game keeper, depending on season and availability.

Newfield Organic supply seasonal crops to our farm shop so you can pick up your meat and veg in one. Grown on the North York Moors, Rosemary Wass prides herself on only selling what she grows with this season’s crops including fennel, beetroot, celery, leeks and kale to name just a few. Speak to the team about placing an order.

The farm shop & butchery are open daily from 8.30am to 6pm through the summer.
