They have recently been classified as one of the UK's most ethical florists, we're delighted that two organisations with a determination to protect the environment have been able to align to create something truly magical.
Prestige have designed 3 stunning floral arrangements that each pull inspiration from the Estate, created from sustainable sources using mainly British species. From the tranquil Walled Garden with its manicured borders and a stunning array of flowers and plants including over 2000 species of modern roses make this one of England’s most comprehensive collections of Roses. To the famous Atlas Fountain, built in the 1850’s with its spectacular water jets from the Triton’s shells to its Atlas Globe upon the laboring giant.
A portion of the proceeds from this beautiful collection of bouquets to towards the conservation and protection of the 300 year old House & Estate for the enjoyment of future generations.
The Lady Georgiana
This magical bouquet has been specially created for Christmas, to represent the stunning reds of Lady Georgiana's Dressing Room which is one of the most beautiful rooms within the House. With the striking reds in the wallpaper of the room being represented by the elegant Naomi Roses, the gold Ruscus adds to the bouquet, mirroring the gold gilding.
The Atlas
This impressive arrangement is inspired by the truly remarkable landscapes that cover the Howardian hills and 300-year-old parklands & gardens. The bouquet is beautifully fragrant, evoking the scents and colours you would experience walking through the beautiful landscape. The arrangement includes Da Vanda orchids and Lavandula eucalyptus to represent the mass of wild orchids that sprinkle the greens with fragrance and elegance. The agapanthus flower grows in the Walled Garden at Castle Howard, and also included is bear grass to represent the wildness of the wider landscape.
The Vanbrugh
The picturesque grounds nestled in the beauty of the Howardian Hills lends the inspiration to this arranagement, that pairs luxury peach avalanche and sweet avalanche roses with over 2000 species of beautiful roses found in the Rose Garden. Prestige have utilised flowers that boast colours represented in the gardens with a special variety of germini, suitably coined the 'sing-sin'g. To represent the fragrant gardens, we have used sweet smelling eucalyptus, British lisianthus found in the grass lands around the Castle and English Lavender to give exquisite depth to this arrangement and to hug the delicate veronica blossoms inspired by the atlas fountain to represent the spectacular water jets.
