Castle Howard is open year round with much to admire whenever you visit, from the magnificent house to the tranquil gardens. Pop in to the stable courtyard for free with its shops and cafés open daily 

House & Gardens

The house is open daily from 10.30am, with last entry at 4pm. Book inclusive tickets online now. Admire sumptuous bedrooms, great halls and lavish state rooms furnished with world renowned works of art. Friendly and knowledgeable guides share our history and stories as you enjoy the house at your own pace.

The gardens are open year round with seasonal highlights to admire whenever you visit. Explore 1,000 acres of parkland with meandering woodland paths, lakeside terraces, temples, fountains and a walled garden which are beautiful at any time of year. Open from 10am until 5pm (last entry).

    Shops & Cafés

    Our range of shops and cafés means there is something to suit everyone, from the family focused boathouse café and toy shop to the takeaway coffee shop, farm shop and garden centre. Free entry to the stable courtyard and plentiful free parking makes it the perfect place to spend the afternoon. In the house, leave plenty of time to browse the gift shop and enjoy a tasty treat in the Fitzroy restaurant.
