What is the minimum group size?
Group rates and packages apply for groups of 12 and over.

Do you offer free places?
Entry is free of charge for the group leader and the coach driver, we also provide your driver with a refreshment voucher.

How do I book my visit?

To make a booking, just get in touch with our Group Reservations team (contact details below). They can advise on the best options to suit your group and answer any questions you may have.

When is payment due?
Payment is due on the date of your visit, and can be made by cash, debit/credit card, or cheque made payable to ‘Castle Howard Estate Ltd’. Invoicing is available by prior arrangement. A non-refundable deposit of £50 is only required if your group is having private catering or a private house tour.

Is Castle Howard suitable for guests with limited mobility?
Yes. In the house, a wheelchair lift provides access to most public rooms: please contact us for full details. Outside, paths and entrances are ramped for easy access and land transport runs between the ticket office, house entrance and lakeside. Other facilities include adapted toilets, a hearing loop and designated parking. We can also loan manual wheelchairs for use in the house and grounds.

Can we stop off for lunch / driving breaks?
Yes. Castle Howard is a great spot for a meal or comfort break, conveniently located between York, the North York Moors and the coast. There is no charge to visit our Stable Courtyard, with its café, toilets, Farm Shop, Gift Shop, Coffee Shop and Garden Centre. We can also arrange a special lunch or afternoon tea, to help you fit as much into your itinerary as possible.
