We are looking for a creative, organised and enthusiastic Marketing Officer to help share our story, grow our audiences and support a busy programme across the Estate.

About the role
The Marketing Officer will support the smooth running of the Castle Howard’s marketing and PR activity. The Marketing Officer will promote Castle Howard’s House, Gardens, Adventure Playground, events, food and beverage offers, retail offers, and more, to local audiences, tourists, press and stakeholders, with campaign planning, delivery and evaluation, alongside social media content creation, writing, posting and reporting. The marketing department is fast-paced and extremely varied, with the opportunity to work on a vast range of projects.

This is an exciting opportunity to play an essential role in Castle Howard’s marketing team, who have won two national awards for campaigns in the last three years at the Museum and Heritage Awards and Association of Cultural Enterprises awards.
This is a part-time role, with the opportunity to be flexible on working days. This role is based in the Estate Office at Castle Howard. The Marketing Officer joins a freelance Marketing Specialist in the Marketing Team, with some responsibilities shared as agreed with the Marketing and PR Manager.

Key responsibilities

  •  Assist with all marketing campaigns for the Visitor Attraction and wider Castle Howard Estate.
  • Coordinate specific marketing campaigns as assigned by the Marketing & PR Manager, designed to meet sales and footfall targets.
  • Keep the Castle Howard website up to date and produce content, including written copy.
  • Ensure Castle Howard listings appear on third party websites.
  • Support with the content distribution calendar and work with the Marketing & PR Manager to deliver regular e-shots and e-newsletters.
  • Support with the social media strategy, schedule, and calendar, including creating, writing and scheduling content for Castle Howard’s channels.
  • Support with photoshoots, video shoots, and other content-development.
  • Work closely with all Castle Howard teams to understand the broad offer and goals of all departments, and support Retail, Food and Beverage and the Lakeside Holiday Park in reaching their sales targets.
  • Support the Sales and Partnerships Manager in marketing to groups, by producing literature and content aimed at this market.

About You
To be successful in this role you must have a minimum of two years marketing experience along with an interest in Visitor Attractions, Culture and Heritage.  You will have proven experience in creating and delivering integrated marketing campaigns which achieve results.  Experience of managing websites and using email marketing software is also required.
