IT Support Technician
£25,000 - £27,000 per annum, 40 hours per week, 5 days over 7, including evening and weekend work
Castle Howard is looking for an innovative IT Support Technician to join our fast-paced varied business located in the Howardian Hills, located 15 miles from the historical city of York. With a world-renowned collection, idyllic gardens and a year-round events calendar Castle Howard is an inspirational environment to be part of.

The role is 5 days over 7 – which will include weekends (i.e Sunday to Thursday or Tuesday to Saturday – with flexibility for some Hybrid Working).

This role will be working with the recently promoted IT Manager who will be helping shape the next generation of IT within the Estate.

- Investigating and resolving IT support issues, problems, and situations on a day-to-day basis
- Planning technology resources to provide support for varied events throughout the year (Music, TV, Film, Concerts, Christmas and Festivals)
- Assisting the IT Manager in the analysis of user problems and proactively research and implement appropriate changes to reduce the incidence of recurring user problems
- Researching new technologies and best security practices to ensure we are ahead of the curve
- Providing appropriate user training to maximise the benefit derived from IT systems
- Ensuring the appropriate records and system documentation are kept up to date
- Performing installations, configurations & maintenance of computer hardware related equipment
- Maintaining records of assets, software licenses, equipment and consumables
- Overseeing the procedures, security and issue of IT resources for new starters and leavers
- Deploying and monitoring Wireless Access Points
- Supporting the resolution of problems with the Merac EPOS system
- Ensuring compliance with customer/employee confidentiality in accordance with the Data Protection Act
- Any other reasonable duties as required by the IT Manager or Castle Howard Estate.
