We are delighted to announce that Castle Howard has made it to the finals of the White Rose Awards.

The prestigious Awards are the largest tourism awards ceremony in the UK, showcasing the best and brightest that Yorkshire has to offer. We know the standard and competition grows year on year so we are incredibly proud to have made it this far.

We strive to provide the best visitor experience we possibly can and these efforts have been reflected in our nominations in the International Tourism and Large Visitor Attraction categories.

With many of our visitors travelling from China, over the past year we have put in place new innovative features to make our overseas visitors feel welcome. 2018/19 has seen us add to our team with a mandarin speaking member of staff, created a new mandarin website, grown our presence on Chinese social media and we are now busy developing a mandarin digital guide. Perhaps our biggest achievement in this area has been to become the first UK visitor attraction to install WeChat Pay at our tills (an app that allows Chinese visitors to pay via their smart phone), a development that has seen us lead the way in international tourism.

All our visitors are important to us and without you Castle Howard wouldn’t be the special place it is. Everyone is different and we hope our visitors have their own personal experience. With a diverse range of exciting events on offer, from The Proms to jousting to the Festival of Dogs, there’s something for everyone. Visitors can now extend their stay with our new holiday cottages and it’s easier than ever to book tickets and find out more with our new website.
