Autumn & Halloween at Castle Howard

Castle Howard has been home to the Howard family for more than 300 years. Explore iconic architecture and beautiful interiors when you visit the House, including the Great Hall which rises 70 feet into the air. A visit in 2025 promises a grand reveal of a once-in-a-generation project transforming the House interiors, including restoring the lost Tapestry Drawing Room. The House is open until 1st November when it will close to be dressed for Christmas.

The Gardens and Grounds at Castle Howard include lakes, follies, woodland, temples, and statues - all of which bring out the colour and drama of the four seasons. The Gardens are open daily (excluding the Walled Garden), and are dog-friendly. The Walled Garden will close 12th November for winter maintenance.

Bake Off’s Helena Garcia, best known for her gorgeously gothic style, is back this Autumn with a spook-tacular pop-up in the Farm Shop! Her fabulously fun range of homewares, clothing and gifts will be available from 1st September – 31st October. If you’d like to meet Helena in person, she’s joining us on 13th September at 1pm – 3pm in the Farm Shop to sign copies of her latest book The Little Gothic Bakeshop.

For decorating, eating, or both, a fantastic range of all shapes and sizes, from classic orange pumpkins to more unusually shaped gourds will be available from 29th September.

A bespoke blend of spices that capture the flavour of autumn, to make the most comforting bangers and mash or toad-in-the-hole. Available from 29th September.

A great selection of six sausages, four burgers and four kebabs for just £20, perfect if you are hosting a get-together. Available in the Farm Shop 18th October to 5th November.
