Permanent Position
Salary: £30,276, 40 hours per week over seven days, mainly daytime shifts
Manage the daily operations over our three main F&B outlets - Courtyard Café, Boathouse Kiosk, and Fitzroy Café ensuring seamless functionality and delivering a quality and standard of food aligned with the Castle Howard brand. Work closely with the Executive Head Chef and other senior Food and Beverage managers to ensure the smooth running of the catering outlets, ensuring all food safety due diligence is complete and the policy is always adhered to. Manage, train and guide a team, with a positive approach to the development of more junior colleges and apprentices. Be involved with the planning and delivering of banqueting and hospitality events. Create weekly seasonal specials with produce derived from the wider estate, walled garden and Farm Shop. Work closely with the Executive Head Chef to develop and create new menus, and concepts, using experience and knowledge to deliver on budget and within time sensitive parameters. On occasion organise and run pop up catering at events across the Castle Howard Estate.

Castle Howard is a diverse working rural estate and award-winning visitor attraction, welcoming over 250,000 visitors annually. Built over 300 years ago, Castle Howard remains a family home and features a variety of attractions including a house and gardens, a changing programme of events, two gift shops, a farm shop, a garden centre, four cafés, and wider estate businesses such as farming, forestry, let property, and a holiday park. The estate is also available for private hire for weddings and corporate functions. The Volunteer Development Manager will support and help grow our team of 200+ volunteers, ensuring they receive recognition and training while also being ambitious about future volunteering opportunities. This role involves developing and nurturing current volunteers and creating new roles and programs. The ideal candidate will be organised, creative, and a multitasker who enjoys being busy, shows great attention to detail, and loves thinking of better ways to do things.
