Into The Woods
Latest From: Estate
Later this year we’ll be offering Annual Pass holders the opportunity to explore the wider estate and discover some of our beautiful ancient woodland with Forestry Manager, Nick Cooke.
Join Nick on a walking tour to the largest oak tree on the estate and through dappled woodland to one of our lesser known monuments, the pyramid in Pretty Wood.
Having worked at Castle Howard for almost 40 years, Nick knows every inch of the 2,000 acres of woodland which make up the estate and is the perfect guide to reveal hidden corners that you might not previously have come across.
With miles of bridleways and footpaths criss-crossing the estate and beyond you can also download over 20 walking routes and cycle rides, including new mountain bike routes, from
www.howardianhills.org.uk
.
The new woodland tour will last around 3 hours and involve walking across uneven terrain; further details and dates coming soon.
