Responses to Vanbrugh
Panel discussion with Nick Howard, Es Devlin and Francis Terry.

Three panelists respond to Sir John Vanbrugh, the architect of Castle Howard, each through their own unique lens, in this exciting lecture as part of the Vanbrugh 300 series of events.

Castle Howard's custodian, Nick Howard, brings his personal experience on living in a Vanbrugh house, and his connection and relationship with Vanbrugh's presence in Castle Howard's walls and corridors to this day.

Internationally renowned artist and designer Es Devlin will unveil a new installation in Vanbrugh’s Temple of the Four Winds at Castle Howard in June, presenting an innovative response to Vanbrugh’s vision. During the discussion she will offer her perspective on Vanbrugh's work and how it shaped her latest project.

Francis Terry is an award-winning architect specialising in Georgian architecture. Francis consulted on Castle Howard's 21st Century Renaissance, working on the restoration of the Tapestry Drawing Room which has gone on to win five national awards.

This event is free, but tickets must be booked online, in advance. Tickets are due to go on sale soon.
