This event is now sold out, check back again next year
Please note:
This Christmas Mr & Mrs Claus have taken up residence at Castle Howard as they make final preparations for the big day, and you are invited to join them! They'll need a little of your help, a lot of your love, and as much festive cheer as you can muster.
Family groups will be admitted in waves and will journey through three festive rooms, where you’ll meet Santa’s sidekick WonderPhil, the North Pole’s Chief Post person, and Mr & Mrs Claus - to make your Christmas wishes and take that all-important photo.
Each child will be given a gift box to take away, and we are delighted to be partnering with local crafting company Forest, Craft and Play, who have designed and produced gorgeous, sustainable, eco-friendly and very magical gifts to accompany this year’s Father Christmas experiences. Set in private rooms within the grandeur of Castle Howard, your ticket to see Father Christmas and Friends also includes a visit to ‘Into The Woods; A Fairytale Christmas’, a series of theatrical installations throughout the Main House.
We’re offering a Relaxed Performance and Sign Language Interpreted Performance specifically designed for visitors and young people who would feel more comfortable with some slight adaptations. Both performances will run at a reduced capacity from our regular showings. We also offer a free companion ticket for visitors who require extra support.
We operate an ‘involuntary noise policy’ for all performances (not limited to the Relaxed Performance), whereby no-one will ever be asked to leave should they make an involuntary noise. A number of ear defenders are available on the High South Balcony (at the start of the experience) for visitors who would like to use them.
You can book for our accessible performances by emailing sales@castlehoward.co.uk, where we’ll also be able to answer any questions you might have. Please include the names of everyone in your party, the ages of any children, and a phone number. Our Admissions team will respond to your request and call you to take payment over the phone.
December 13, 5pm: Relaxed performance This performance has slight adaptations to make it a more comfortable for children and young people with learning disabilities or additional needs. There will be no unexpected loud noises or shocks, the space will be well-lit, and there’s a comfortable seated area on the High South Balcony where visitors can take a break.
December 14, 5pm: Sign language interpreted performanceSign language interpreter Sean Chandler is part of this performance, which is adapted specifically for D/deaf and hearing impaired guests.
