From Saturday 14 March to Thursday 31 December 2015 visitors to the house, gardens and estate are encouraged to take a moment and snap their favourite views and alternative perspectives of our rich and varied landscape.
From imposing architecture, sweeping vistas, lakes, woodland, monuments and fountains to the formal gardens, flora and fauna and rolling Howardian Hills, Castle Howard offers endless opportunities to be inspired.
Nick Howard, who will judge the competition, said: ‘Having grown up at Castle Howard I am well aware of the unique qualities of our beautiful Yorkshire landscape, with every season bringing something new to admire and enjoy. As a keen photographer myself, I feel inspired every time I venture out, camera in hand, and look forward to reviewing the many fantastic entries I am sure we will receive.’
The competition is open to all novice photographers over the age of 13 and prizes will be awarded for first, second and third places in both an adults and young photographers (aged 13 - 17 inclusive) class in March 2016.
Entries will be shared across our website and social media, with plans to make an exhibition of a selection of the entries in 2016 in progress.
