The ITV drama Victoria starring Jenna Coleman, Rufus Sewell and Tom Hughes, filmed at Castle Howard in October 2015 when the house doubled as Kensington Palace - where the young Victoria lived and learned of her ascension to the throne.

Victoria was made by Mammoth Screen, producers of series such as Poldark and Endeavour and the series was written and created by acclaimed novelist Daisy Goodwin, in her screenwriting debut.

Castle Howard stars in the first episode of the series, an extended 90 minute feature which is followed by 7 one hour episodes.

Interiors used at Castle Howard included: Castle Howard Dressing Room, Castle Howard Bedroom, Long Gallery, Museum Room, South Front Corridor and Great Hall.

Castle Howard Bedroom

Castle Howard Bedroom - where the young Victoria sleeps in a bed next to her Mother's and where she discovers her Uncle, King William IV, has died and she is to be Queen.

Long Gallery

Long Gallery - where Queen Victoria first addresses her Lords: 'I know that I am young and some would say my sex puts me at a disadvantage but I know my duty and I assure you I am ready for the great responsibility that lies before me.'
