Furnished with vintage pieces, items from Castle Howard itself and carefully chosen modern furnishings, our cottages are the perfect home from home. Fully equipped with modern conveniences such as a dishwasher, washing machine and much more, all our cottages also have a log burner and a beautiful outdoor space with garden furniture.

Step into history with a stay at Castle Howard’s Hind’s House, a listed cottage that is nestled into one of the turrets of the famous fortified walls that enclose the original deer park. With far reaching views of the Mausoleum and the Pyramid, its extensive and enclosed garden is the perfect place to relax and soak up the majesty of this magnificent landscape. Inside, the three-bedroom cottage has been sympathetically renovated and furnished with antiques from Castle Howard, including replicas of original wallpapers from its archive. All modern conveniences have been supplied as well as more traditional comforts such as an Aga and wood burning stove. A particular feature is the turret bathroom with its copper freestanding bath.
