Behind Closed Doors
4th June, 3rd July, 10th August

Join the Curatorial team for a rare opportunity to go beyond the crimson ropes and discover some of the fascinating secrets of Castle Howard.

This tour will allow you to access spaces not normally on display to the public, from the iconic dome at the very top of the building, to the cellars at the very bottom. Along the way you will take in hidden views, and learn some of the many fantastic stories from Castle Howard’s 300-year history.

The tour lasts two hours. Ticket includes access to the House and Gardens during the day of your visit which open from 10am. As this tour takes place after the house closes, we recommend visiting the House and Gardens before your tour.

Please note that this tour will encounter narrow staircases and heights and is unfortunately not suitable for wheelchair users. Our other tours, such as the Grand Tour of Castle Howard and Castle Howard’s 21st Century Renaissance Tour are accessible for wheelchair users.
